Whether you built an epic survival base in single player or downloaded a custom adventure map online, uploading a custom world lets you bring it straight to your multiplayer server. This guide will show you how to upload your world folder, update your server settings, and get it running on your MCServerHost server.

Prepare Your World Folder

Before uploading, make sure your world files are structured correctly.

Upload Your World

  1. Log into your MCServerHost dashboard and navigate to your Minecraft server.
  2. Open the File Manager tab on the left-hand navigation bar.
  3. Upload your compressed world archive into your server's root directory by clicking on Upload at the top right or dragging and dropping the file.
  4. Once the upload is complete, right-click the uploaded archive and select Decompress to unpack the world folder into your server root directory. Decompress

Update server.properties

To tell your server to load your new custom map instead of the default world folder, you need to change the level name in your configuration.

  1. Open the server.properties file in your File Manager. Server.properties
  2. Find the line that specifies your world name: Level Name
  3. Change world to the exact name of your newly uploaded world folder for example,
level-name=my epic world
  1. Press CTRL + S to save your changes.
