What is Plasmo Voice?
Plasmo Voice is a proximity voice chat plugin and mod. It adds positional audio, noise reduction and a bunch of moderation features. Like Simple Voice Chat, players install a client mod and talk to each other over the server.
Getting Started & Installation
- Download Plasmo Voice from https://modrinth.com/plugin/plasmo-voice .
- Pick the version that matches your server software (it supports Paper, Spigot, Fabric, Forge and NeoForge).
- Use the File Manager in your server panel and put the file in the plugins folder (or mods folder for Fabric/Forge).
- Restart your server so it loads.

Opening the Voice Port
- Go to the Network tab in your server panel and click "Add Allocation".
- Note the random port and ip you receive.

- Set Plasmo Voice to that port and ip in its config, then restart.

Client Mod
Players need the Plasmo Voice mod on their own game to use voice chat:
- Download the client mod for their mod loader (Fabric, Forge or NeoForge).
- Drop it into their mods folder.
- Launch the game and join.
Players without the mod can still join, they just won't have voice chat.
Using Voice Chat
- Press V to open the voice settings menu.
- Use Push to Talk or voice activation, whichever you prefer.
- Hold right-click while looking at a player and scroll to adjust their volume.
- Voice changes with distance, and it muffles through walls with sound occlusion enabled.
Important Considerations
- Client Mod Required: Voice chat only works for players who installed the mod.
- Port Setting: The unsigned port from your allocation must match the config.
- Permissions: Plasmo Voice supports permissions plugins and server-side muting.
- Features: Add-ons add group channels, whispering, broadcast and more.
Conclusion
With Plasmo Voice installed, your server gets high quality proximity voice chat. Install the plugin, set the port, and players add the client mod to talk.
