What is a World Preset?
The world preset decides what kind of terrain your world generates. You can pick a standard world, a flat world, giant biomes, or extreme amplified terrain. Changing it creates a new world.
Preset Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
default |
the standard Minecraft world. On versions 1.19+, use normal instead. |
flat |
a superflat world. |
largebiomes |
much larger biomes. On versions 1.19+, use large_biomes instead. |
amplified |
taller, dramatic terrain with extreme mountains. |
Changing the Preset
Stop your server Press "Stop" in the Console.
Open
server.propertiesUse the File Manager in your server dashboard.

- Find the line:
level-type=
and change it to one of the presets above, for example:
level-type=large_biomes

(Optional) Change level-name to a new name This keeps your old world and generates a fresh one with the new preset.
Save the file and start your server.
Important Considerations
- Backups: Download your current world before changing the preset.
- New World: The preset only applies to a newly generated world.
- Version Names: Older names like largebiomes differ from 1.19+ names like large_biomes.
Conclusion
Changing level-type generates a different kind of world. It's a quick way to start over with fresh, custom terrain.
