Learn how to install and configure MythicMobs to create custom mobs and bosses on your Minecraft server.

Have you ever wanted more challenging PvE battles, custom epic bosses, and unique encounters to make your server stand out? MythicMobs is the industry-standard plugin for creating custom entities with advanced skills, custom drops, and unique AI behaviors.

Install MythicMobs

  1. Download the latest MythicMobs .jar file from a trusted source (such as MythicCraft or Modrinth).
  2. Open your MCServerHost dashboard and go to your File Manager.
  3. Drag and drop the .jar file directly into your server's plugins folder.
  4. Restart your server to generate the default configuration folders and template files.

Create Your First Custom Mob

MythicMobs uses structured YAML files to define custom entities, skills, and drops.

  1. Navigate to plugins/MythicMobs/mobs/ via your File Manager.
  2. Open (or create) a YML file (e.g., CustomMobs.yml) and add a basic custom mob configuration. Example structure:
Configuration Line Description
SkeletalKnight: Mob ID.
Type: WITHER_SKELETON Base entity.
Display: '&aSkeletal Knight' Mob name.
Health: 40 40 health.
Damage: 8 8 damage.
Equipment: Defines the mob's equipment.
Drops: Defines mob loot and drop chances.
Options:' Defines additional mob settings.

Test and Spawn Your Mob In-Game

Once your configuration is saved, load it into the live server without needing a full restart:

  1. Open your server Console or go in-game with operator permissions.
  2. Run the command to reload your MythicMobs configs:
mythicmobs reload
  1. Spawn your newly created custom mob using its internal name:
mm mobs spawn SkeletonKing 1

You've reached the end of this tutorial! By now, MythicMobs is fully installed and your first custom boss is ready to challenge your players. Grab your friends and test out your new custom encounters! (:
